Thelma Elizabeth (Garner) Wilkie

Thelma Garner Wilkie, age 84, of Cameron, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 6 until 8.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 pm with Pastor Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Thagard Baptist Church Cemetery.

Thelma was born in Moore County on September 25, 1939, to the late Claude and Ethel Morgan Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Wall, Ruth Baker, brothers, Harrison, William, Raymond, Lacy, Ralph.

She spent her working career as a childcare provider in her home and enjoyed every minute of it. Some other things she enjoyed were her pets, Izzy and Tinkerbell and working in her vegetable garden. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Charles Wilkie; daughter, Cheryl Patterson and husband Tony; grandsons, Justin Ryan Patterson and Tony Patrick Patterson; sister, Jewell Frye and husband William of Sanford, brother, Walter Garner and wife Barbara of Virginia.
