Tyrus John Delaney

Tyrus John Delaney, age 72, of Cameron, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 10:00 am at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors and Pastor Art Garno and Pastor Scott Garno officiating.

Tyrus was born in New York on August 24, 1949, to the late Keith Raymond Delaney and Ruth Snickles Delaney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Allen Delaney.

Tyrus proudly served his county in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam. He worked as an auto mechanic and restored classic cars.  His family was the apple of his eye. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan Mendola Delaney; children, Mark Mendola of South Carolina, Kathy Mendola of Cameron, Sarah Delaney of Missouri, Nicole Anne Ryals of Carthage, John Keith Delaney; sisters, Barbara Dominie (James) of Texas, Tammy Garno (Art) of New York; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
