Vera (Prevatte) Morgan

Vera Prevatte Morgan, age 92, of Lakeview, went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Accordius Health at Aberdeen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Solid Rock Community Church in Sanford with Pastor Brad Marona and Pastor Gregg Newton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 1 until 2. Burial will follow in Pineywood Baptist Church Cemetery.

Vera was born in Scotland County on October 15, 1929, to the late Baxter Prevatte, Sr. and Vera Campbell Prevatte. In additions to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Leroy Morgan, sisters, Edna Prevatte, Margie Hales and Annie Hoyle, brother, Curtis and Billy Ray.

Vera’s first love was Jesus her savior, then her love of this life was Richard. She and Richard married after seven weeks of dating, and they were married just shy of 70 years. Her life was filled with faith, flowers, family and fellowship with friends. She not only raised her own children but helped raise Lakeview’s children in her daycare. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Dale Morgan (Glenda) of Sanford, Gail Clouse (Ron) of Monroe, NC, David Morgan of Lakeview, Lori Short (Glenn) of Carthage; brother, Baxter Prevatte, Jr. (Jean) of Wendell; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren
