Wickey "Danny" Lee Messer

Wickey Lee “Danny” Messer, age 64, of Cameron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 5:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Davis officiating.  A time of visitation will follow immediately after the service.

Danny was born on June 7, 1959 to Bobby Lee and Hazel Faye Spencer Messer.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Faye Spencer Messer and granddaughter, Caitlyn Renea Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Deborrah “Debbie” Dennis Messer; daughters, Chrissie Fields (Jimmy), Melissa Martin (Joshua); father, Bobby Lee Messer; sisters, Cathy Bowling of New York, Cindy Duke of Broadway; brothers, Gary Messer of Raleigh, Bruce Messer of Broadway, Johnnie Messer (Jennifer) of Broadway; grandchildren, Braeden Fields, Braxton Fields, Jacob Martin and Tucker Martin and his beloved dog, Buddy.

Danny proudly served his country in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division.  Following his military career, he spent the majority of his career working for multiple construction companies as a Superintendent building high rise buildings.  He was well loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
