William "Bill" Allen Harkness

William “Bill” Harkness, age 65, of Cameron,  passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on September 8, 1955 to the late Nicholas Pies, Sr. and Grace Talbott. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Nick Pies.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. His achievements in life were numerous but he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Linda Carter Harkness; daughters, Amanda Lorenz (Travis) of Missouri and Katrina Harkness (Carrie) of Texas; sisters, Darla Carlson (Duane) of South Dakota and LaDean Seago of North Carolina; brothers, Marty Harkness (Sonia) of New Mexico, Brian Pies of Cameron, Jim Pies of Carthage, Mike Pies of Pinebluff, and David Pies of Charlotte.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
