William "Bill" Carroll Norris

William “Bill” Norris, age 83, of Southern Pines, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m at Aberdeen First Baptist Church in Aberdeen with Pastor Daryl Cornett and Pastor Junior Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 1 until 2. COVID restrictions will be followed. Please wear a mask and maintain social distance from others.

Bill was born in Lumberton, North Carolina on September 6, 1937 to the late John Archie and Elizabeth Page Norris. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by sister, Barbara Graham and brothers, Toby and Charles Norris.

He proudly served his country with the National Guard. He was an avid baseball fan and coached baseball locally most of his life and was a huge Duke fan. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn  Norris; son, William Brian Norris (Bobbie) of Aberdeen; daughter, Gail Calloway of South Carolina; sister, Shelby Rhodes of Texas; three grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Norris, Marilyn Ann Marie Norris and William Seth Norris.
